Countdown till 7-11-09

I have exactly 8 more weeks till the big day. Things have been busy and stressful the past week. We been in rush to get the labels done for our invitations to be sent out this week. I'll be able to send most of them out Tuesday. After making Mike and his grooms men's an appointment Friday at Men's Warehouse it didn't turn out to at all to what I was told for the rentals, discounts and what not. They had told me if we rented up to 10 tuxes, which we do (11 tuxes) we would get the grooms free, 2 free rentals and $30.00 off because I bought my dress through David's Bridal. They acted as if they didn't know anything about that and shocked that Mike even mentioned this to them. I was so pissed off when he called and told me they laughed at what he said. Also the sales lady didn't show him anything in a reasonable price rage she showed them the most expensive tux rental for $179 bucks and disagreed on Mikes choices. I mean who does that... She was about to make 11 tux rental sales and she was totally unprofessional and rude about everything. Luckily they didn't pay anything but a $20.00 hold fee for one groom. I couldn't believe it. We will never refer anyone to Men's Warehouse and I'll be sure to let David's Bridal know about this so called good company there sponsoring. The next day we where on a hunt to find some where cheaper to rent tuxes. I mean anything less then $179 is cheaper so we knew we would find something. Mike and his cousin Eric went to Lee's Tuxes and where so impressed with everything about this place. It was total opposite to what Men's Warehouse was. They where a lot professional, nicer and they agreed and loved his idea's he had for himself and the groomsmen. Mike came back so happy and can't wait to get his tux and of course I can't wait to see him all suited up.

Other then that dilemma my mom had to take my little sister Desi back to David's Bridal for the second time in search of Desi's Jr. Bridesmaids dress. She has been such a brat and way picky about shopping for a dress. I don't know what she thought she was going to wear, but she's very unhappy about the fabric of the dress and thinks there all ugly and old lady type. lol Don't worry there not at all. She's a spoiled brat and don't know... We asked her several times what she thought she was going to wear and what she liked and her answer was, " I DON'T KNOW". Awww she's so horrible. I wasn't even there with them and I was getting so frustrated. I felt so bad for my mom and now I know why my mom wanted a color snatch months ago because she knew this would be a problem, "finding a dress for Desi." My mom got sick of her attitude and I don't knows that she picked one out for her. She's still upset and thinks she's going to look ugly after being so excited about wearing a dress and being a part in the wedding shes upset about it. Well she don't have much of choice and she better not give me any crap on the day of pr wedding OR ELSE. =)

Weekend Review

We been real busy getting prepared and ready for our wedding so things been kinda hectic. I got our invitations last weekend, but didn't have the time to do them last weekend because of my birthday weekend. Friday we where able to get them folded, stuffed and in the envelopes so that part of the invitations are out of the way, but they won't be done till I get them addressed, labeled and stamped. I'm working on that this week to get them completely done.

Mona and I went to Davids Bridal on Saturday and I was finally able to find the perfect dress to purchase. I've searched and looked for the past few months, but nothing was perfect until now or should I say perfect enough and still in my budget. It was the first dress I tried on Saturday and I knew it was gonna be the one by the way it fit, just enough bead work and with the perfect train. I knew it was the one and with my wedding only being a month or so away I had to make a choice Saturday. I'm so satisfied with my dress and I got it at a pretty good price. Because I waited at the last minute to get a dress I won't have it until the 3rd of July which is a week before my wedding. It had to be altered and with it being so short notice it's gonna take awhile to get that done. I'm glad to have that out of the way and now I can focus on getting my bridesmaids dresses. I made an appointment Wednesday of this week for my girls to go pick out and try on dresses. We are getting so much done this month and its nice to get things taken care of and out of the way. This Saturday we are getting the groomsmen together to go try on suits. Then all I need to do is get the miscellaneous stuff out of the way like wedding favors and bridal party gifts.

Mothers day I celebrated by going to a movie with my mother in law, sister-in-law Yvette and niece Vanessa. We left the guys behind and went out on our own to watch a chick flick. We don't get to do that often enough so it was nice.

I appreciate my mother in law so much. She does so much for us and I'm honored to have such a wonderful person like her in my life.

My mother went yard sale shopping with my sister and I think she had a good day. What mom wouldn't like shopping. I just wish she could be here so I could go do things like that with her. It's so hard not having her here. I miss her so much. No Holiday or Celebration is as much fun without her here.

My Birthday Weekend

My birthday started off Friday when Jozy one of my good friends took me out to lunch. It was nice to seat down and talk for while. We both have been working for Zions Bank for some years now and use to be roommates. I don't get to see her as much now that I'm out of the office all day. She wasn't able to make it to my gathering Saturday so she decided to make it up by taking me to lunch. She's such a sweetheart.

Saturday Mike took me shopping for shoes and I got some birthday money from my mother in law before we went shopping so I bought me a few other things. Later Saturday we spent time with our family and friends watching the boxing fight. Mona is so fun when it comes to birthdays she really gets into it and makes sure you really have a fun day. She had decorated all over downstairs with tonze of balloons and birthday signs. Unfortountly we spent the whole night upstairs so no one got to see how fun and cute it looked.

Sunday was my actual 26th birthday. Mike took me out to dinner at my favorite spot Red Lobster. It was a lot of fun to get out and have a nice dinner. Afterwards we came back home and the family had cake and ice-cream ready. There so sweet and I'm so thankful to have such a wonderful family. They really made me feel special. I had the best birthday thanks to my love for spoiling me and my family being there and making it so special.
